The Effect Of Loud Music On The Ears

The effect of loud music on the ears

Music is wonderful when it is listened to in the right way. However, many turn up the volume to extraordinary levels because they want to hear it above the background noise or because the thump of the beat makes them feel good. Whatever the cause, loud music is extremely damaging to the ears. Problems usually don't start until later in life and can be quite dire. The worst is tinnitus, which generates a constant ringing or noise in the nerves that are not related to anything around. It is a disorder of the hearing mechanism and the main cause is loud noise. This can be from chainsaws; music; drills; machinery; rock concerts; and so on. My friend got it from the military and the weapons he had to use. It is questionable whether soldiers would be compensated for this condition when it occurs after leaving the service. People who work with loud noise are putting their hearing at risk and many don't know it. While it is common for this to be played in stores, assistants are not aware of the risk they are taking. The customers who have to endure this while shopping are also at risk. This is a general health hazard that governments and the medical profession should promote to prevent it from causing a plague of deafness in the community. Yes! I said deafness because my brother was in music and is crazy about it and now he is deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other. There is no need to play music at such a volume that it threatens to damage your hearing. Side effects should be given more publicity and young people in particular should be made aware of them in school. Norma Holt has knowledge that allows her to understand many issues. Social, political, and behavioral issues are usually on her discussion list and the depth of her research is astounding.
